Updated: 04-25-08
"Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus." (Phil.4:6-7) Pray at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints...(Ephesians 6:18)
PRAYER PARTNERS, PLEASE UPDATE US AT EVERY OPPORTUNITY.
CURRENT PRAYER REQUESTS:
Jim Culberson 05-08-08 jdhookandanchor@aznex.net The Dr. called a couple of hours ago with the pathology report--and it is a good one!!!!! All of the cancer has been removed and none was found in the lymph nodes. Some of you will know what a "Gleeson score" is. The initial biopsy WWAAYY back in February indicated a Gleeson score of 6 which most of my was. However, the growth was a little more aggressive than the first biopsy indicated, so, some of the cancer was a higher grade and had a Gleeson score of 7. Other than recuperating from the surgery, there is no further treatment indicated at this time. The Dr. will keep check on all of the pertinent stuff. In fact, we go back to Tucson this coming Friday for a particular test to see if everything is healing as it should. Also, I would encourage all you men to "go on line and Google up Prostate!" You never know when you might want or need a little extra information!!! God is GOOD--ALL of the time. Jim
Wanda Arnold 04-10-08 Wandacda@aol.com Thank you all so much for your prayers and support during the healing from my brain tumor. Praise God the MRI reveals my brain tumor is completely gone and the space is closing where the tumor was. Wow! Thank you Jesus for your healing power!! May God bless you all. Wandacda@aol.com
Maureen Shivers 03-30-08 I have a Prayer request from Bill and Lucille Shivers in T or C. Their granddaughter Maureen Shivers who lives in Juneau Alaska is 22 years old and was here in Las Cruces a year ago attending NMSU has been diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer. The doctors are treating her aggressively and it is very hard on her. Please ask all of La Rista and the Emmaus Community for prayers that God will give wisdom to her and to her doctors, and of course prayers for her family as she goes through this time of difficult decisions. Also the Shivers daughter Carla Stinehart, in Animas, NM is expecting twins and needs prayers that she is able to carry both babies to term. God Bless, Linda flhurd@comcast.net
Ross Coleman 02-25-08 Although no longer privileged to call El Paso and Trinity-First home, I still look in on the website and would like to add a prayer request to the Emmaus Community I have a friend here in Houston that I go way back with...His name is Ross Coleman, his wife is Gretchen and his daughter is Maclaren The daughter is about 18 months old, and while not diagnosed specifically to my knowledge needs a LOT of special care and therapy...I have heard she is blind in 1 eye, and feel that the symptoms are possibly Cerebral Palsy. Ross is also fighting some demons personally, with anxiety, depression and chemical dependency putting severe strains on his family and his professional life. My Walk provided a GREAT deal of healing for me personally, as did my time at Trinity...I have asked Tom Stanton for his prayer support, and would like to add it to the Emmaus Community, as well. Thanks for the Blessings, Curtis Pangle
Gretchen Schwarzbach 12-17-07 Surgery today went off without a hitch. The doctors removed one lymph gland. Testing showed it to be negative, so they didn't remove anymore, which is a relief. Thank you so much for your prayers. Gretchen has told me repeatedly how grateful she is for them. She will go home tomorrow to be cared for by Jim and Sue, her dear nurse friend, who is flying to El Paso from Tulsa, tomorrow morning. Please continue praying as the healing process begins, to be followed by chemotherapy. Guinnell Schwarzbach Guinnell@aol.com
Judy Putnicki 01-09-08 Good News:My last MRI showed that tumor #1 was still small and stable. Tumors #2 and surprise #3 - gamma knife was effective and both are smaller. Not so good news: Dr. Gupta doesn't think I should be driving, but will reevaluate me in a couple of months. Next MRI is in March, with results on the 17th. De Colores!
